Terms of Usage

This page details the terms of usage for Colorfilter.net. You’re welcome to use the resources offered on this site; however, please make sure that you adhere to the terms as detailed below. They are broken down into categories for easy reference. By accessing this site, it will automatically be assumed that you have agreed to these terms.

Important: Unless specifically stated otherwise, you are not allowed to use the content on this site for anything that involves profit-making. This means you may not use offered downloads for any commercial purposes like business websites, artwork that you sell, business/commercial designs, etc. If you are interested in using anything for commercial/business purposes, you must first contact me to obtain explicit permission, which may or may not include the requirement to purchase a commercial user license for your use.

As a general note, my resources are mostly linkware, which means a link back to Colorfilter.net is required when you use them. I would greatly appreciate it.

Resource Downloads:

These apply to all offered downloads such as graphics resources like textures, patterns, brushes, etc. and any other graphics extras like layouts, smilies, and such. You are free to use them for personal purposes like creating icons, fanart, websites, or other personal artwork provided that you adhere to the following terms:

You may not redistribute them anywhere online or offline.
You may not edit, alter, or recreate them into your own resources to be offered anywhere online or offline. This means no turning them into brushes, patterns, or other texures and then distributing them elsewhere as your own.
Never claim them as your own.

Icons & Other Offered Graphics:

These apply to any non-resource graphics I’ve put up that you can use, such as icons, wallpapers, headers, banners, smilies etc. Feel free to use these for your enjoyment; that’s what they’re made for! However, please note:

You may not redistribute them anywhere online or offline.
You may not edit or alter them in any way without specific permission from me.
Never claim them as your own.
Use them only as intended to be used.

To clarify the last point, an example would be if I’ve put up wallpapers for desktop decoration, then please use it as such. Don’t crop them and make icons out of them or turn them into your layout backgrounds or header, etc. unless you’ve received my permission first.

Tutorials and Written Content:

As with all other resources on this site, please do not post them anywhere else online or offline. You may link to them for reference, but any kind of redistribution is not allowed without my permission. Please also do not edit them or plagiarize the content and repost them as your own.

All tutorials, tips, or articles are to be treated as references for ideas or for learning new techniques. Please don’t use them to duplicate exact results as my examples and then post them as your own. Additionally, any graphics used to illustrate the written content should not be re-used for any purposes unless specified otherwise.

Additional Miscellaneous Notes:

Hotlinking: Under no circumstances may you ever hotlink/direct link to anything on this site. It kills my bandwidth (which is costly), and it’s equivalent to stealing money from me. If you do not know what hotlinking is, please take a look here for more info.
Site Layout: You may not use any portion of anything that is incorporated into the layout of this site or specifically created for use on this site. This includes all layout graphics and coding, past or present. I view layout theft very seriously, and I will take any necessary actions against you if you’re found guilty of this.
View-Only Artwork: These apply to all artwork that are only meant to be viewed but not used. Some examples include, but not limited to: portfolio work, past clients’ projects, and non-shareable artwork such as my digital artwork, photos or scans of my paintings, sketches, collages, etc. In short, these are ONLY for viewing purposes- which means you may not take them or use them for anything.
