About This Site

Colorfilter.net is mainly a website that provides a wide range of creative art and graphics resources for your designs. Some things you can find here are textures, patterns, brushes, gradients, tutorials, and various other miscellaneous goodies that may be helpful for different projects like website work, LJ icons, and such. In addition to these resources, custom services for your specific needs are also available if that should be what you’re looking for.

This website is constantly expanding and new downloads are always being added. Basically, anything related to resources for creative needs are all likely to appear here one day if there’s a demand for it. Those who have been using Colorfilter Resources, especially from back in the early LJ days, are probably already familiar with how I take all requests and suggestions into real consideration. If there’s something you’re looking for or would like to see, feel free to contact me and I’ll see about making it available on the site. You might be surprised at how often visitor requests are honored.

The way I see it is this: The resources on this site were created because it’s something I really enjoy doing, and I especially love the fact that others find them useful. It’s really very rewarding to be able to share these with others and see all the beautiful creations people make with them. While I love fiddling with my Photoshop and churning out download sets, it really wouldn’t be half as fun if no one found them useful at all. And so I always do make an effort to listen to anything that visitors may want or need.

A Little History?

Before this site came about, the name “colorfilter” was first used for my graphics journal on Livejournal as a place for me to share graphics I do for fun, such as fanart and LJ 100x100 icon-related goodies. It was something I did to relieve stress for myself, and I kept it fairly separate from the graphic work I do professionally.

However, being someone who was always more accustomed to creating her own websites rather than being restricted by a hosted service like LiveJournal, the idea to port everything over to my own hosted site was something that was always a great possibility. Then slowly, a combination between the growing request from my clients to have a center point of reference for my work/services and also the increasing desire of my journal’s visitors to access other non-icon things I’ve done eventually pushed me to go ahead and set it up.

When I decided to take this step, Colorfilter.net then became the natural choice for the name of my domain. So all in all, while this domain may have been purchased back in mid-2005, many of the contents and designs shown on this site was actually created much earlier. Most were shared at LJ, some at other places, while several were never posted until now. In short, Colorfilter.net has become a place where I can organize all my creative resources in one area.

Technical Stuff

Colorfilter.net is hand-coded and fully designed by me, Téa P., for web viewing, using validated XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS. All graphics seen on this website, whether on the layout itself or on the download sets, were done mostly on Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator unless specified otherwise. The new version of the site (as of 10/22/2006) is now also managed and powered by ExpressionEngine.

This site has been tested on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Camino for cross-browser compatibility. If you should come across an error or a page that isn’t displaying properly for you, please contact me so that I may fix it ASAP. Thank you!

All built on a Mac.
